BixData can monitor over 1000 data points in Linux / FreeBSD and OS X, and more than 10 000 data points in Windows.
Custom Monitoring
Use the bixdata script plug-in or develop your own plug-ins with the BixData SDK. Data published through plug-ins are automatically collected through BixAgents and stored in the SQL Database backend. There is no setup required for storing data in the SQL database, and data is automatically available for reporting and customizable templates.

Script Import
BixAgent can import data from scripts or any program that outputs text data. As a developer you can extend the functionality of BixData to query custom applications and services, databases or even return proprietary data for report tables and graphs.
SDK
The BixData SDK is intended for system administrators and programmers who wish to extend the functionality of BixData through plug-ins.
Currently BixData version 2 supports plug-in extensions to be written in C/C++ for all platforms supported by BixData.
