Monitoring

BixServer is designed to monitor many aspects of IT environments. Together with monitoring, alerts and notifications allow you to control what happens when a certain event occurs. Notifications can be a simple email or cell phone message or complicated actions and escalations.

  • Server Monitoring

    • Use BixData for real-time visibility of your servers and data center. Be notified instantly when a server goes down or runs low on resources such as CPU, memory and disk space.

  • Virtualization Monitoring

    • Monitor any virtual machine or hypervisor from VMWare and Xen. Monitoring critical resources of hosts or guests.

  • Network Monitoring

    • Monitor everything that your network and systems depend on. Use built in support to monitor bandwidth or network cards in servers or monitor network devices through SNMP.

  • Application Monitoring

    • After a simple installation of BixServer you can monitor HTTP, Web Services, Mail Servers, File Systems and Databases. Monitor application written in Java, Microsoft .NET or for any of the supported platforms.

  • Performance Monitoring

    • Developers can monitor the performance of applications and services, hardware and networks in real-time, with the real-time graph viewer. Find bottlenecks and application bugs fast without doing any compile time instrumentation. BixData can monitor over 1000 data points in Linux / FreeBSD and OS X, and more than 10 000 data points in Windows.

  • Custom Monitoring

    • Use the bixdata script plug-in or develop your own plug-ins with the BixData SDK. Data published through plug-ins is automatically collected through BixAgents and stored in the SQL Database backend. There is no setup required for storing data in the SQL database, and data is automatically available in reporting and customizable templates.
