What are the advantages of Bixdata over Hyperic or would you consider them totally different solutions? I do see Bixdata looks a bit more lighter weight than Hyperic. Your thoughts?
BixData scales better than most solutions, up to 2000 servers per BixServer instance with 12000 service checks.
BixData is lighter because it has only 1 technology stack, and no dependencies, so its much easier too install and uses very little resources compared to other solutions.
BixData is not an Agent/Agentless architecture, it uses the best of both worlds. Works well enough without the need to install Agents, and has a much deeper wealth of information with Agents installed.
BixData manages VMWare and Xen.
Reporting and data storage happens in SQL server and is open, theres a plugin SDK that allows you to extend it to any data source.
BixData has a great GUI and with really good visualization.
