The Professional Edition scales to manage diverse cluster environments and large scale data centers. It excels at managing commodity clusters running large scale applications with large attached storage. BixData is currently used in hosting environments for search engines, online web applications and scientific applications.

BixData Scalability

BixData can manage any number of servers with small installations ranging from 10-60 servers. Typical installations of BixData manage 200 to 400 servers running a mix of Linux and Windows Operating Systems. Larger scale installations manage 1,000 to 4,000 servers.

Each instance of BixServer is designed to monitor an average of 12,000 services and applications, running on any number of network devices or servers.

Some installations employ a mix of agent and agent-less monitoring, with many installations opting for deeper monitoring through agents deployed on almost every server.

BixData also scales extremely well to monitor large scale storage networks with dedicated storage hardware or commodity based server storage ranging from 4,000 to 12,000 storage devices.
