What's in store for 3.0?

I have been following the project for a long time now and am glad to see 2.8 make it out the door. Great job guys. It's been a while between the 2.7 and 2.8 release so I was wondering if a lot of teh development is going into the 3.0 branch (if there is one)?

Would love to see an iPhone version of BixDesktop. With push alerts forthcoming for the iPhone this would be an awesome network monitoring inerface..

Do bixdata have provides a web based report interface for ping, http, snmp, and tcp?, such as visualpulse web edition, it can alert you by email or SNMP trap if any of the monitored devices become unavailable. thanks.

More options for email notification

When sending alert emails, we should be able to specify more than just smtp server (port, SSL, etc.).

For example, our company uses Google Apps to host our email, which forces all SMTP requests to be SSL and at a higher port. As such, we can't send emails using Bix.

Hi Guys

Could you add a couple of features to how notifications works

1) The ability to fire Actions per Service Check rather than per server / tag.

For example, I create a notification to monitor 2 Service Checks(HTTP and SMTP) on 10 different servers in our office, if the office router resets I end up receiving 20 SMS messages.

This is enough to drive anybody crazy, if I could set an option to recieve per Service Check then I would only have recieved 2 SMS's (i.e. saying HTTP down and SMTP down.

2) Only fire a Down->Up action if an equivilant While Down action fired off.

For example, I add an Action to SMS me when HTTP is "While Down" for 10 minutes and another when it moves from Down->Up. I only want to recieve the Up notification if HTTP was down long enough While Down actually fired off.

View BixDesktop by Web interface

Is there any possible way if after install and configure BixDesktop that it could be view via Web Interface instead of need to open the program from the server itself. Well at least i can view it from my network only using the web browser.

Regarding Service Monitoring

I would like to monitor FTP , SAMBA , NFS , MYSQL etc services , so does this support all of these.?

Also i have a custom service running in my linux server call media_app on port 13255, So can i build a custom Service by specifying it and its port and monitor it ??
